Goldfinger and culture

Watching Goldfinger for like the 20th time in my life. Some of the jokes never get old. Some of the culture does. Early Bond movies were heavy on objectifying women. Sad. They also had more refinement. Think about the scene in which Bond picks out the original vintage of the source wine in his sherry.

RSS Feed and Radio processor draw

I find that I'm using Radio more often now that I've fixed the title output for the RSS feed. I never thought that the defaults provided professional output. Workable, yes. Easy to understand, no.

Main complaint with Radio remains processor power. I changed the upstreaming interval and that's helped significantly. Comments?

Will and Grace

Will and Grace is on.

Google!It, Titles and Blame

I'm posting to test two things added to my posts: Google! It and title and links. I blame it on Jon Udell. He's a good person to blame, though. It was his web log that made me dig through the docs and help to find some of this. It's easier than I thought. Next is the Google! box and “what's I'm reading”

iPod Redux!

Today I repurchased an iPod. Once again, a clearance 10GB model, but this time from Target in Joplin, MO. Their price was $100 less than what I paid at Best Buy, so I was happy to make the drive. Same great user experience opening the box, updating the firmware and copying songs.

Yes, it's still named “gilberto”.

With the extra savings, I'll be buying an iTrip to go along with it. This will finally allow me to enjoy my jazz collection in my car!

Weblogs and Work

I've started to add my weblog address to my email signature. I want feedback to help me write better. Let's see who comes to read it. Thank goodness for logs…

7:54 pm

Most of the severe weather is gone. Radar doesn't show much at this point. Now Greene county is in a Flash Flood warning. This is the worst weather here in years.

7:20 pm

Large cell near Mt. Vernon, MO will probably be in Springfield by 7:40. I've turned off local coverage for a bit to escape some hype. I'll monitor the online radar images and my weather radio.

Speaking of radio, my friend Tim Smith works for KKLH-FM here in Springfield. Email him some words of encouragement while he works to keep things updated. He also does volunteer work for our local emergency management group. What a guy to have around at a time like this.
